Who is the new guest director everyone's talking about?

Winterport Open Stage continues it’s 10th anniversary season with open auditions for the classic comedy A Bad Year For Tomatoes on September 7 & 8 at 7 pm at Wagner Middle School. A familiar face on stage, Jenny Hart will take on a new role behind the scenes as director for the community group’s 27th production. Hart is looking for 4 women & 3 men to be cast, and newcomers are strongly urged to attend. In John Patrick’s popular comedy, gardening is the least of Myra Marlowe’s problems when she leaves the fast-paced life of a Hollywood starlet for some peace and quiet in a sleepy New England village. The characters she left behind are no match for the new ones she discovers in Beaver Haven. Deceptions and the suspicion of murder lead the audience on a bumpy ride …and a bad year for tomatoes!

The play will run Oct. 29, 30, Nov. 5, 6, & 7. Audition forms, character descriptions, and selected scenes can be read online at www.WinterportOpenStage.com. 825-3055

Rhonda has been involved with WOS for nearly a decade, and this is her 2nd tour of duty on the WOS B.O.D. She has appeared in You Can't Take It With You and Baby, but is most famous for her work as the owner and creative genius behind Arpel's Hair and Tanning in Winterport. For many years she has coordinated makeup and hair styling when needed on WOS productions. Welcome aboard!
